Arrow keys problem

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop.My arrow keys and the questionmark stopped work suddenly.What i can do helpppp :)

Hi NefelhP,

Thanks for the post! I would suggest you first test your system with an external keyboard, this should help distinguish between a possible software / hardware issue. You could also test the keyboard functions pre Windows / in your systems BIOS to make sure no installed software is interfering with the keyboard functionality.

 

If the Keyboard has the same issue in the BIOS or an external works well, the issue is likely hardware. Make sure the keyboard is clean and nothing is obstructing the effected keys and try reseating the ribbon cable connection before replacing. The guide below has more detailed instructions on troubleshooting this issue.

 

If the keyboard works normally in the BIOS or an external has the same issues, the problem may be software related. Try removing all unnecessary programs from your start up and making sure you don’t have any device drivers missing.
