Base System Device driver

• I am trying to find driver for base system device (Dell inspiron 1420). Problem began with computer being plugged in but not charging 
• So i uninstalled microsoft ACPI in device manager in the batteries section
• Then put battery back in and attempted to scan for hardware changes and keep getting "base system device, no driver found'
• Tried to manually check for it online but to no avail (all updates are good)
• Also getting a constantly popping up message reading 'Drive G not formatted' and the options available does not work

Can I get some help on this please?
