I found the answer on the Corel Help site. The official looking numbers on the CD-ROM sleeve are not the serial/key. The serial/key is on a small paper insert in the CD-ROM sleeve and it is printed in the margin of the form in font size of about 2. This little piece of paper looks so insignificant that it would have been easy to have thrown it away. It looks mainly like the warning about not pirating the software. That was the right number and it unlocked the installation wizard.
