CyberLink pop-up
Hello,
Since I bought my Inspiron over a year ago I have a pop-up two or three minutes after start-up:
CyberLink PowerCinema Resident Programme a cessé de fonctionner
(CyberLink PowerCinema Resident Programme has ceased to function)
As I don't use PowerCinema I thought that I would uninstall the programme, but I can't even find it to uninstall.
Can anyone tell me how to clean up (get rid of) this programme.
Thank-you

Rouretan,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
When you go to add/remove programs in control panel you do not see Cyberlink installed? If not, look on the start programs list to see if it may be there with an uninstall option.

Hello Jesse,
No it isn't in either of those places, and all I get if I put it in the search box is this:
olreg
HKEY_CLASS_ROOT
CLSID
{397A21FB-EADF-4116-9027-32B8FA04C3E2}
files which appear empty.
Peter.

I found a reference in the start-up box (windows defender) that said that it was "not yet classified", but the delete or disactivate buttons were greyed out so it could not be touched...
In the uninstall window there is no Cyberlink to uninstall, but there is a Dell Mediadirect which has the same icon...
Is this any clue?
Or... what will happen if I just uninstall the Dell Mediadirect? will I still be able to watch DVDs? Perhaps not.
Why does Dell install such flaky software, then not offer any real support?
