Dell Inspiron 17 3737 Wireless & Bluetooth drivers win8.1 x64

Hi all,

I have recently purchased an Inspiron 17 3737 that come with ubuntu. I install windows 8.1  64bits for compatibility with my other program and I find almost every driver except the Wireless and the Bluetooth.

System Model number: Inspiron 17 3737
Operating System   : Windows 8.1 Professional 64bits

Wireless card driver

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280

I scan the computer with a tool and the wireless device seem to be a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter

I tried download drivers from dell official page for this laptop but all driver that I tried to install and that should be for this type of laptop, dont work. It gives me warning that selected driver arent for my platform on computer and then abort installation.

Can someone help me?

Thanks

Josko

Hi Josko,

I am sorry for the inconvenience. The Windows 8 drivers are still not available for this system model. I will check with the internal team and get back to you.

One more vote for this question - I've bought a Dell 3737 laptop yesterday, and was trying to connect it to the Internet the whole evening (using Windows 8). Unsuccessfully, of course.

Could you please inform us which drivers can we use for the wireless network card?

Thanks in advance,
Filip

Hi Filip,

I have informed my internal team with regards to the drivers not being available in Support site. I will keep you posted as soon as I get a response. Meanwhile let me know the type of wireless card the system is shipped with.

In Windows 8, I go to Device Manager, right click on Network Controller - Properties, tab Events, c/p:

Device PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01\4&3400d52a&0&00E3 was configured.

Driver Name: null
Class GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}
Driver Date:
Driver Version:
Driver Provider:
Driver Section:
Driver Rank: 0x0
Matching Device ID:
Outranked Drivers:
Device Updated: false

I assume it's the same wireless card as Joskos from the first post. My laptop number is: 3737-1211.

Thanks,
Filip

Hi!

I have the same problem, but can you tell me, where did you find the other drivers?

I cannot find any drivers to Inspiron 17 3737. (I'm using windows 7)

Thanks

Hi Horvathati,

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Drivers for Inspiron 3737 are not yet available on our Dell support website.  You may install the drivers which are under Inspiron 5737.

These computers are shipped with Windows 8 Operating system. I am afraid Windows 7 drivers are not available.

Awaiting your response!

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280

That's the Dell Wireless 1705 Card. It shares a Windows 7 driver with the Dell Wireless 1703 Card:

http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01502231M/2/DW1703_DW1705_W7_A00_Setup-GMW8T_ZPE.exe

Therefore try the Windows 8 driver from the Dell Wireless 1703 Card:

http://downloads-us.dell.com/FOLDER00701559M/5/DW1703_W8_X03_A00_Setup-DX3X5_ZPE.exe

Otherwise it is an Atheros AR956x card and you can getting the driver from the unofficial Czech website:

http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=83&system=8

Direct download link from the Czech Atheros website:

the link from atheros only gives me the zip file with no installation app that i can start

You need to install the INF's manually ... right-click both INF files, then Install.

Hi everyone,

user Dell-Rajesh R was correct - you can just go to Dell 5737 drivers download, download drivers from there - they work for the 3737 as well.

Link: http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/555/Product/inspiron-17r-5737?dgc=SM&cid=266805&lid=4943051

For wireless drivers, this is direct link:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/555/DriverDetails/Product/inspiron-17r-5737?driverId=DK2MK&osCode=W864&fileId=3287402662&languageCode=en&categoryId=NI#

(version: Dell Wireless 1705 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Driver).

It all works now - thank you all for your replies and help. Just ask if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Filip

I tried to install that driver but i cant because i get a warning that that driver isnt for my platform and that i need to choose one that fits to my platform.
I even reinstall the windows again..

Do you know what's the problem, or which driver I should install instead?

Hi,

I would be the happiest man in the world, if it worked...

Wireless driver still not working. Says it's not correct platform.. I'm still waiting for a good driver.

Are your hardware IDs the same as above?

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280

I'm using windows 8.1 64bit.
