Desktop XPS 8100 – Windows 7 – crash after critical windows 7 updates

Hi All,

Desktop XPS 8100 – Windows 7

After critical windows update, 10 April 2012

Windows 7 start and it tries to apply the updates, it turn to blue screen and shutdown automatically

I check the documentation Dell do not provide DVD with recovery restore including the operating system (Windows 7),

Instead they ask the end user to backup the system after the first use!! [witch we didn’t]

Please advise

Reboot and press F8 before Windows starts to load. Follow instructions at thls link to use "Last known good".

Assuming that works, back up your personal files to external media right away. Then reboot and go to the Microsoft update site to download the update(s) again in case the previous downloads were corrupted.

EDIT: Be sure to read all 5 pages starting at the link, above, in case LKG doesn't work because they have suggestions what to try next.

If you're in the USA, you can request the Win 7 disk from Dell here. They may charge you for it.
