Downgrading from Windows 7 to Vista
Hello,
I have installed Windows 7 Full edition , evaluation version 7100, which will soon expire. As I get a lot of blue screens, I am not sure I will buy a valid key. So I would like to know if it's possible to downgrade to Vista and now ( I don't have the OS on dvd as I purchased the laptop without the separate Vista software).
Thanks!
Michel

michelmarc,
Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
You can install Vista on your system. You may first want to see if you can locate Vista drivers for your hardware and download them prior to installing Vista.

Hello michelmarc,
You cannot downgrade from any higher SKU to a lower one just by using a key. You will need to do a full reformat since there's no option for downgrading, only upgrading (via Windows Anytime Upgrade). You however can still save profiles and settings by using Windows Easy Transfer, but unfortunately, you will need to reinstall all softwares you're using.
Hope this helps.
