Error Message with SQL Server and Re-installing SQL

When starting my computer (Dimension 4600 with Windows XP Professional Version 2002) I get the error message:

Your SQL Server installation is either corrupted or it has been tempered with (could not open sqlevn70.rll). Please uninstall and re-run setup to correct this problem.

I first began getting this message when working/learning about the use of Access.

From an earlier Dell Community forum response to another member's inquiry on this problem, the recommendation was:

Uninstall Microsoft SQL reboot then reinstall it.  Then apply service pack 3a.

  1. How do I uninstall Microsoft SQL? This program is not listed in the Add/Remove programs listing.
  2. How do I reinstall Microsoft SQL?

I have the operating system CD (Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Professional including Service Pack 1a) and the Microsoft Office Professional 2003 CD.

Thanks.

Not sure how this happened but why don't you try restoring the system to a date prior to the onset of this problem and see if that fixes it.
