F11 Key during bootup

Hi All,

Greetings … As this is my first post on Dell forums.

My PC is a Dell Dimension 9150, XP Media Center Edition 2005 SP2.

I recently installed Acronis 10 to back up my hard drive. No problems with the backups I've made.

However, when I now boot up, I immediately get the option to press the F11 key to access the Acronis loader prior to Windows loading.

F11 was originally the key that gave me the option during boot-up to use the PC Restore function, which returns a PC back to the out-of- box state.

Hopefully, I will never have to use PC Restore, but if I do, will the F11 key revert back to PC Restore if I first uninstall Acronis ? I'd rather not try and see.

I'm not agonising about this … but would like to know, just in case.

Cheers, Scrumdown

Not quite , pc restore is accessed by using ctrl+F11

"When the Dell screen appears, press and hold the key on the keyboard, press the key, then release them both at the same time"

Thanks mombodog for your reply. That's cleared up the mystery. Much appreciated.
Hope I never have to use it.

However, your link didn't work for me. I got this message instead on Technical Support page.
"Sorry, we are not able to locate the requested document"
