Ghost 2003 and a Dell Optiplex330 ...Cannot create Ghost image

Hi

I have a problem where after i finally worked out how to get XP back on the PC after coming preinstalled with Vista , i now have an issue where i get the PC to a state where all my Apps are installed and i and ready to run with it.

So now i want to Create an Image on DVD using Nortons Ghost 2003, I load the disk the PC reboots into PC DOS brings up the ghost console and just freezes, so i rebuild the PC create a partition and try to Ghost it there, and it still frezzes.

I have no clue why i have never had an issue with it before, this is my first Dell PC not off to a good start.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated regards.....King

Upgrade to a newer version of GHost - 2003 is too old to support Vista.

I've had problems with Norton Ghost 2003 myself. It does not seem that Ghost like any kind of SATA drive. All the sata drives I've ghosted before, would freeze. I got around it eventualy by using a USB Hard Drive Docking Station (Predictor). Took me 'bout 10 hours to ghost a 80GB HDD, but it worked without hassles.

Could be worth a shot.

Got nothing to do with the pc being a Dell, btw...
