ICONS

Hi to all the members, Is there a way to arrange the desktop icons in a horizontal configuration running across the screen rather than the vertical configuration they normally run? I tried right clicking on the screen and clicked to modify but nothing happened. I tried other menu items too such as unlocking the grid but the icons always are arranged in vertical configuration.
