Instructions on how to clone and restore Dell XPS 12 MSATA SSD DRive

Can anyone provide provide idiot instructions on how to clone and restore hardrive in Dell XPS 12 using Acronis 2014 (paid for version)

I've just paid to upgrade Acronis and watched their Youtube video which didn't give me the same result as their video!

When I select clone it allows me to select the source disk fine but it won't let me select an external Seagate drive as the destination. It does allow me select a Kingston Hypex USB 128 gb (which on it's instructions says wont be bootable). When I select this and Proceed it then says I need to restart. When I restart it sticks on the Boot Screen doing nothing...... This is driving me nuts it can't be difficult to list out the steps for this surely.... Help anyone?
