Internet Explorer script error help?

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

I have a Latitude D830 laptop with Windows XP Professional as the operating system. Every time I turn on my computer an error message pops up that says: An error has occurred in the script on this page.

 Line: 764

Char: 3

Error: Object doesn’t support this property or method

 Chat: 0

URL: http:// 127.0.0.1:34343/js/extensions/direct_files/direct_files.js?810343

How do I fix this?

You should upgrade to a later version of IE. IE4 is very out of date--if that's what you have. To stop this error, go to Tools, Internet options, Advanced, uncheck Display message about script errors. OK it and the error will go away.

Upgrade IE ... excellent suggestion.  The scripting engine for IE 4 will not support the scripts running on nearly all current websites.  Even IE6 is no longer supported by most sites.  Even the original XP came with IE6 and cannot be uninstalled, which begs the question ... how in the world did you get IE4 on there?
