LOST PROGRAMS

Did you delete the shortcuts or delete these items from the Start menu, or delete Accessories and Games from the HD?

If you actually deleted them from the HD, open Add/Remove Programs control panel. On the left side, click Add/Remove Windows Components. Make sure Accessories and Utilities is checked and click Next. Follow the prompts.

I'd try the Windows XP "System Restore" first.  If the System Restore doesn't recover the programs then do what Ron has suggested.
