Looking for Vostro audio driver, broken link
Hello, my problem is quite simple and should be easy to help with. I recently reformatted my Vostro 1400 and I've gotten everything reinstalled except for the audio drivers.
I did not anticipate the dell driver page having a broken link major meltdown, I thought you guys would fix it, but it's been about 3 months already so here I am.
I noticed tons of links across tons of laptop drivers are missing but I am looking for this file in particular R171786.exe for Windows Vista 32-bit
I've tried for hours to find it at a mirror site but every site simply links back to the same missing file on the dell ftp site.
It is supposed to be the ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/audio/R171786.exe:

what about trying one of the older drivers temporarily?

IEEE has probably the best idea ... use the next newest driver. It works fine and should provide necessary functionality. If it is still missing, its likely Dell removed the driver for some reason (incompatability, caused additional problems, unnecessary, etc.) and the page was not updated accordingly ... who knows (we are not Dell):
