Lost Wondows 8.1 product key
My hard drive failed and as a result I lost the OS. It was Win 8.1 pro and as you know the key was embedded in the bios. I don't have any of the media that came with the computer, I can't locate it. Dell tells me I'm out of luck but there has to be a way to get that key so I can install. It's a precision m6800 please help if you can

OEM windows 10 media will install and work.
There is no reason for the user to have the key that is embeded in the bios.
