Hi Yellowjacket98,

Thank you for writing to us!

Currently the systems are being shipped out are with window 10 and hence we dont have a windows 7 Operating system Cd's Live ,however if you have the product key you will be able to download it from the Microsoft website : www.microsoft.com/.../windows7

Also you can use the Dell website to download the supporting drivers.

Thanks

Microsoft block Dell Windows 7 OEM keys from using the Windows 7 Retail Downloader however you can use the Windows 10 TH2 Media Creation Tool to Download a Windows 10 TH2 .iso. This .iso will accept Windows 7 OEM Product keys during installation. See here for more details:#

this pc on it's web site for drivers, said Dell is not developing any Windows 10 drivers for this model, so windows 10 operating system won't be compatible with some of the components in this Dell machine.

so I feel this machine will be  obsolete when windows 7 is not supported any more.

The Inspiron 580 Desktop is an early 2010 system. Taking a maximum of a 4 year warranty and 1 year of sales all of these models have expired warranty. Dell therefore will not test Windwos 10 with it or release Windows 10 Drivers.

However the Inspiron 580 Desktop will run Windows 10 fine. Windows 10 will have pretty much all of the system drivers inbuilt for the Intel based Desktop or obtain them automatically from Windows Update.

When I am entering the product key using the url you mentioned, it is showing "The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options."

OEM windows 7 Home is no longer supported.

Windows 10 installs and works.

You use the I dont have a key to install home or Pro then activate by changing product key to the key on the COA.

This disk works on any Dell that meets windows 10 minimum system requirements.  Aka NX  CMPXCHG 128 LAHF SAHF .
