RoHe, You may have a corrupted file and might need to uninstall the program and reinstall it as suggested. If you also have IE6, does the problem occure on that browser? Have you checked McAfee support for update issues on their website? Have you run a virus scan, cleaned your tmp files etc.
Don't use IE so can't tell if this is a Netscape related issue. Just wondered if anyone else had this problem with McAfee's last 3 updates. Nothing on McAfee site and online chat with tech support said 'reinstall'.
System clean, no viruses or other malware detected. tmp files etc all cleaned out. Ran XP system file check (sfc) and ok there too. Waiting for McAfee to force feed me another update to see if problem persists before I uninstall/reinstall.
And I thought PCs were supposed to productivity tools. Seems like I spend more time lately fixing buggy software than I save. :( (rant! rant!)
