Mcafee privacy service error

1) With a new dell dimension 8400, I recieved 3 months free Mcafee, there was a compatability problem with Lexmark printers- I followed web instructions and tried to reinstall privacy service. Now everytime I start up:

error message: Privacy service Mcafee: an application component is missing. Macafee say i am not registered to have this service, but I used to be before it was uninstalled- now I just want the message to go away.
