Media center remote control problem ????

I just purchased a 9300 with media center. I didn't purchase the remote from dell but wish I had now. I purchased one from eBay brand new but it won't work. It is just the remote and doesn't have a USB receiver to plug in. Do you need a receiver to plug in to the USB on the laptop. This would make it much less mobile ! Is there a set up or a driver I need to get the laptop to see the remote. Can't find any info !! Please help me out !! Thanks in advance !!

Guess what I'm asking is if when you buy the remote option from Dell, Do you get the remote and a plug in usb adapter too or is all you need is the remote itself. If all you need is the remote then can someone give me some direction on how to program it or a manual location to download. Thanks to all !!!

You need both the receiver and remote for it to work. Also it has to be one made for MCE 2005. If you get a remote with pro or home it will not have the interface to connect with your cable box.
