Missing Dell Support Center Icon
Over the weekend I noticed my Dell Support Center icon had disappeared off my desktop shorcut (?), checking the properties, it doesn't seem to point at an excecutable, however if I click it, it will load the Support Center software fine.
I have downloaded the software from the Dell web site, and reinstalled it, however it gets very closed to completion then pops up with a large error message about msi and something else, then crashes out.
How can I resintall this, so I dont lose its references to my Dell Tag number and other "configuration", I am running a Dell Inspiron 530, which was only bought a week ago.

Hi Mary
I think it is more than this, as the icon is on the desktop that is missing, not the taskbar.
Also the folder in the "programs" menu entitled when expanded, shows all the Dell Support Center options, but each one has no icon.
Last night, I completely removed Dell Support Center software, rebooted, then reinstalled it from the Dell web site, and reinstalled it, the same problem occured again. It all installed fine, runs fine, but none of the Dell Support Center has any icons.
The only way I could get this to work, was find DSC.exe in the folder, create a shortcut and then put this on my desktop. I realise the tag is on the back, but my PC is buried deep under my desk, and not always the easiest to get access to!
