Musicmatch Jukebox 10 problems
I click on the desktop musicmatch icon, and nothing happens - it won't open. This problem occurred after Windows auto update had installed some new updates on June 18, 2005
How can I correct this problem and access Musicmatch? It is very difficult to get tech support from MM, and the program has been glitchy all along. I have MMJB 10.
Anyone else with this problem? sure would appreciate some help, THANKS!

Are getting a missing file error? I uninstalled some ati drivers last month and got a missing file error. So I downloaded the missing file, put it in musicmatch directory and it works.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. My music library was gone, and the program was just not working well, freezing up. So then I did a system restore back to the day that I thought it was working, but now it still won't open up. I may try going back a day earlier and see what happens.
Question on the uninstall: After uninstalling it in the "add/remove programs", MMJB instructions said to Navigate to the MMJB directory in Windows Explorer, select the files (but not the folders) and delete them.
What exactly do they mean by selecting 'files' but not 'folders'?

First, any play lists, etc that MMJB shows is just links to the actual music files on the hard drive. The files themselves are not stored in MMJB. If you reinstall MMJB it will have to go out and find all the files and rebuild the list.
Files vs Folders. A folder is a "directory" on the hard drive that contains files. When you do an uninstall many programs will leave a few files still on the hard drive as they may be still in use, or just the program's uninstall does not clean out all files. If you installed MMJB in the default folder, it will be located in the Program Files folder.
Another issue, when you uninstall a program, make sure you restart Windows before doing a reinstall. If you just uninstall and reinstall the original problem may still be there.

Thanks for the info. I tried to do the un/reinstall with restarting computer in between. Still no luck, so I ended up re-installing from the original Dell CD that had MMJB 8.1. Now it works! lost a few playlists, but I still have my music library. Still don't know why the ver. 10 failed, but at least I'm back in business. I still have a plus upgrade key that I paid for, so will see if I can get the ver. 10 plus upgrade back again somehow.
Thanks everyone for your help.
