Old Excel Spreadsheets

Hi I have only recently bought my new pc and it has XP on it.

I have been trying to save some old spreadsheets to my documents but am having no luck.

I really need to access these documents asap.

Can anyone offer advice.

When you copy them to My Documents what happens?

Also, of course you'll need to have Excel installed (part of Office, not XP), or at least the Excel viewer

and its security update
