Optiplex 745 with Vista: Blue Screen after Easy Transfer

I got my new pre-installed Optiplex with Vista Ultimate a couple of days ago. Starting up no problem, installing Office 2007 and some small software without a problem.
Today I wanted to get data from my old computer, so I connected both over a crossed network cable and started 'Easy Transfer' on both.
After about half of all files, the connection stopped with an error on the old machine and 'no answer' from the Transfer software on the new one. I killed the task and restarted the machine. This is where the problems really started!
After login, it seemed to start normally, loading all the drivers - until the blue screen (BSOD) showed up. And again and again when booting normal. The rebooting also happens if I wait long enough to log in without selecting a user.
No problem when booting in safe mode, but also no indication what causing the problem in event log (see also 3rd posting) or when sending the error to Microsoft (solution: no!).

Error:

Solutions I tried already:
1. System Restore to last Restore point
2. Remove all devices except keyboard and mouse (both on USB)
3. Boot with Log (File ntbtlog.txt see below)
4. System Restore to a restore point two days ago
5. Memory Test
6. System Repair (from Recovery Partition)
7. Complete shut down, removing power
Nothing changed!

Thanks for your help!

Any idea why the section from the audio driver to the Communication Port is repeatet again and again as not loaded?

Easy transfer works fine with removable media or over an established network. I think your problem might be with the cross over cable ad hoc network. Boot into safe mode, kill the file transfer process and reboot. If it still doesn't boot normally, boot into Safe Mode and do a System Restore to the day before this happened. Last resort--do a Dell System Recovery (F8 at first boot)to return to as shipped condition. You will have to reinstall your files and programs again. Make sure you do a Windows Update, too, after a reinstall.

Before you do anything or before the system recovery--contact Dell support. Who knows, this might be a hardware failure covered by your warranty and have nothing to do with file transfer!!!

Thank you Mary
The crossed cable was just to bypass the switch, I gave both computers fixed IPs, so not an 'ad hoc' network. And it worked well for about 3 GB...
I could kill the transfer on the new PC, and after that the crashing started.
As I tried to explain in the part 'solutions I tried already', I started the system restore to different restore points with no success.
Also, the system recovery did not help.
And the help I got so far from the support team was to run the extended diagnose testing, which did not report any error.
So I think a serious hardware failure is not the problem.

I checked the event log again and found the following error in the system log always around the time when the system crashes again:
Event 10005 from source DistributedCOM
DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start service ... with argument "" (with different service names)

I also found an error in the application log
Event 4609, source EventSystem
The COM+ Event Service detected a bad return code d:\vistartm\com\complus\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp
(seems to be part of debugging info - this file is not on my PC)

Could that be caused by some data or settings tranfered from the old computer?

Thank you for any help!
