Powerquest Drive Image 7->CD boot-problems

Hi,

Just installed PQ Drive Image 7 software on a brandnew Dimension 8300 (standalone) to make system-backups. Instead of dos-emergency-boot from a floppy (like previous versions) this one creates (has to ;) a 32-bit 'PowerQuest Recovery Environnement' when booting from the original installation-CD.

Unlike other machines booting gets locked on my Dell with a message after trying 'initializing network' :

"Failed to install network adapter -- check winbom"

Don't know if any connetion but the Nec DVD+RW ND-2100AD on my Dell is not listed in the Powerquest supported Opitical drive list ...

Anyone with the same experience ... and maybe ... a solution?

Many thanks

Jan

janvanhoyland,

The information in the articles here may be of some help (or at least of some interest).

I have the same program. based on what I know having SATA drives it is probably missing the driver for it. You may have to load it off a floppy or re-burn it on the CD. Power Quest has good support and a forum also , I would post there good chance someone else has had the same problem.   The CD recovery is new so I would say there probably have to up-date it.

I forgot to mention Power Quest was sold on Dec 4 th to symantec the same trash that owns ghost and Norton, I will find a new backup, I want none of their garbage.

Thank you both for supporting me,

Indeed maybe this is a SerialATA / Powerquest recovery environnement - problem. Did a F6/'floppy with driver' attempt. Not working. Guess a little complicated for me ;)

Meanwhile installed DI2002 again because DI2002-Emergency floppy's do not recognize DI7-backups ...

Maybe PQ-support also knows the problem and if not I wil just wait for an update, hoping for the best...
