Problem installing USB printing support on Window XP home without and with SP2 USBPRINT.SYS

The Wizzard "New hardware found" pop ups everytime if you restart the computer to indicate that support for USB printing must be installed on my dimension 2400 with XP home with SP2 and withoud SP2.

Whether you choose "Automatic installation" or "Manual installation" the installation of USB printing support start and abort's at the end with the message "An error has occured while installing the device" "The system cannot locate the desired file" After that the printersoftware an OKI c3100 is correctly installed and you are able to print without any problems untill you restart the computer I normally used an LPT1 printer and switched now to an USB printer.

Through system/devices i inspected where the driver should be located. This is the location "c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\USBPRINT.SYS" The version is 5.1.2600.1106

OS is XP Home with and without SP2 the problem reoccurs.

I used two different type of printers to try to solve the probleem, namely. I know that you selle Lexmark printers so that should not be the problem.

An Oki C3100 USB printer

A Lexmark 150 USB connected

The probleem arises because i am not able to install correctly USB printing support on the computer.

Unplug all USB devices from the PC. Open Device Manager and expand the list under USB. Right click and uninstall each item, one at a time, until they're all gone. Exit Device Manager and reboot. XP should reinstall the USB ports. See if that solves the problem.
