Says i have Vista Beta

I got an XPS 410 about a year ago with Vista home premium.  Lately its been telling me that i have Vista beta, but i know i dont.  The message from problems and reports is "The problem was caused by Windows Vista, which was created by Microsoft Corporation. You are running a beta version of Windows Vista, which is no longer supported by Microsoft Corporation." When i right click on my computer it says i have Windows Vista Home Premium.  Any ideas why its sayin i have Beta and anyway to make it not say that?  I am alsohaving problems installing SP1 and i think it might be connected.

are you sure that somehow the beta sp1 wasn't installed on your system?

If you installed a Beta version of SP1, uninstall it, then run Windows Updates to get the non-Beta SP1.

Check on Installed Updates for the SP1 (KB936330), if it is present, uninstall it.
