I have a xps 420  OS Vista, (dsl network) and the problem I am having is when I boot up I get

the message Status The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource

that is unavailable. Click  ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation

package STATUS.MSI in the box below. When I try and get rid of it another message comes up and says

An installation package for the product Status cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package Status.msi

I have to click on cancel about twenty times before it goes away ,if I do not do that the message sits in the middle of the screen .

Thanking you for your help. Oh I forgot to mention the message is the last thing that comes up after its booted up.

Robert Moyer,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

This error is from printer software. Try uninstalling  the printer software and reinstalling it into the system. When installing select Custom installation while installing the software and uncheck update while installing the software.
