Taskbar date disappearing Windows XP

The date on my taskbar appears and disappears randomly. Through the ‘Regional and Language Options’ I have it set to show ‘M/d/dddd/yyyy’ For a few days it will be up and showing, and then, for a few days I am left with the time and day of the week only.

I would appreciate any thoughts/ideas on the problem.
