Vista home Premium/IE7

IE7 does not work reliable with some features of my online banking software. They say change browsers.

Question: Could I retain IE7 for general use and download netscape or firefox to use when going to my bank site? Would it be just a matter of clicking which icon I wanted to use? Are they Vista ready?

Thanks for any help.

You can have whatever browsers you want on your PC.  I have I.E.7 which is my primary browser and as I maintain two web sites I also have Firefox and Opera so I can check compatibility.

I'm surprised at your bank for not being up to date, however, have you tried accessing it with I.E.7?  On some web sites that are not 100% compatible, I.E.7 will revert to a different compatibility mode.

Not if you use the browser Opera, you can use a setting to fool the site into thinking your using that version of IE.

Thanks and I am surprised as well. In fact it turns out I can only use IE6
.
This is BOA and the story is that this really neat little routine that lets me create a one shot credit card number was written by MBNA staff, who BOA bought recently. The IT staff left or were let go and BOA have yet to get their arms around the various unique projects.

BOA is I.E.7 compatible.

I guess you could say its 99% compatible. This feature called "shopsafe" which allows me to create a one shot credit card, works only once in a while. The BOA IT people tell me it's not been updated to IE7 for the reasons above.

If you have BOA online banking and a Boa credit card go to the site and next to the card click on "options". One of the options will be "Create a shop safe account number." This is the feature that is "Iffy"

I had never used that.  I just tried it, 3 times and each time it came up OK.

Did you actually create a temporary card number? If not, then it may or may not be working. And, yes, it does work sometimes. I have used it many times and think it is a really great feature. I am giving the BOA people as much "encouragement" as possible to get this routine working reliably.

They have not advertised this feature yet simply because it is not reliable.

I didn't create any, as it says one has to be created for each site.
