Will Dell reinstall Win 7 OS on the same computer after a hard drive crash wiped out the original?
Our Dell Studio 1555 came with Windows Vista preinstalled and the option to uggrade to Windows 7 when that came out. We installed Windows 7 from Dell. Recently the hard drive crashed on this computer (out of warranty) and we lost the Windows 7 OS. We had a new hard drive installed with Linux OS. Are we entitled to have Windows 7 reinstalled by Dell on the same computer on the new hard drive?

Providing you have the latest BIOS installed, the Dell OEM system locked preinstallation mechanism for Windows 7 will accept your system as a valid system and activate Windows 7 on your system. See my A Clean Install of Windows 7 for instructions:
