Win 7 32bit to 64bit

Hello,

Are we in the legal way if we have done the following?

We want Windows 64bit...

So, we have a dvd from another new Dell PC.

We installed this disk and activated the code over phone by Microsoft.

That the key is legal, we know.

But that we used another Dell dvd from other PC?

Hi streulma,

Dell OEM discs can be used on any of Dell systems where the product key will not be prompted. This is a legal procedure.

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.

OK, can someone explain me how SLIC in BIOS works?

Google it. You know how to Google, don't you?

What wasn't clear about the response to your original question?  And if something wasn't clear, why not ask in that thread?

Read this Windows Reinstallation Guide page 292 for Windows 7, and page 286 for Windows 8 (which has a new method).
