Win. 98SE on Dell GX270?
My software doesn't work on my newer Dell w/ Win. XP. Can I run Win. 98SE & my software on my old DELL GX270, even though it had Win. XP? How do I go about changing it to Win. 98SE?
Thanks.

There are no drivers listed for your system for win 98. So it will make things very difficult to downgrade. One thing you will need is a win 98 OS disk and I dont think a Older Dell version will work. Finding a non OEM version will again be very difficult to find.
Perhaps it ist time to upgrade your software.

Downgrading to Windows 98SE is a terrible idea. The suggestion to uprade whatever software you have to one that is compatible with Windows XP is a more sensible approach.

Thanks for the help. Do you know what older systems would work with Win. 98 SE and aren't too hard to find?

I have the upgraded version, but I have over 11 years of sign work on it that can't be text edited in the newer version. I'm also more comfortable with the older version and can work a lot quicker on it. Some projects are just easier in the older version. I just want to know if it's possible. I want to use USBs instead of 3.5" floppies (why 98 SE) Once I get something like that set up I can convert everything and learn the new version.

I love my Dimension 4100. It's a real workhorse. See if you can find an used one on Craigslist.
