Windows 7 - IMPORTANT Windows 7 Backup Disks to create
If you recently purchased a Dell computer with the Windows 7 operating system and have DataSafe Local 2.0 on your system, you can create a set of Recovery Discs that contain a complete copy of all software installed on your Dell computer.
How do I know if DataSafe Local 2.0 is on my system?

For more information about DataSafe Local please see the following Dell articles:

Jesse,
I know about the Dell DataSafe disks but did not know about making a system repair disk.

But could I, if needed, restore my computer to factory settings without having Dell DataSafe Local Backup installed on my computer?

Weatherman97,
As long as the hard drive is ok and the Recovery partition is working properly...
Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings
The other method is...
Restoring Your Dell Computer to Original Factory Installation with Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0

When my notebook was acting up, I restore my note book back to factory settings using data safe hoping that would solve the problem. I made a backup on a usb drive when I rebooted to factory settings. The computer seemed to be running good until widows 7 updated. When updated it said to restart the computer to apply the new updates. I start getting a lot of error message saying programs was not register correctly and will not work. So, I don't know if the backup I made is corrupted or not. Now I'm stuck at the windows 7 start up blue screen. I can not access data safe or any other programs. I ran a diagnostics test and got the code error 2000-0146. So that's were I'm at. I will look at the set up guide and look at the other options you suggested. Rick Thanks!

Tdigital,
2000-0146 is the hard drive is failing or failed message. Backup all the files and folders you cannot afford to lose, if possible.
If your computer is under warranty, Contact Dell Technical Support
If the computer is no longer under warranty, then you'll need to replace the hard drive. The Dell Data Safe disk will install everything from Factory.
If the disks are corrupt and do not work, then if you're in the United States, Request Backup Disks USA If in another Country, contact Dell Tech Support in your Country.

Good evening.
Can someone point me in the right direction of an email address for a UK contact please regarding replacement media.
I wish to reinstall my system but cannot locate my system disks (I am unsure if I ever did them) so tried to create some using Dell Localsafe. Each time it gets to the verify section and fails at 5%. Searching the web seems to throw this up as a common problem :emotion-6:
I have tried using different types of media to no avail. I have un-installed the software and re-installed as some people have suggested but again I get to 5% on the verify status and it fails.
It seems to me the software is unreliable and I wish to get a copy of the OS that I purchased with my laptop. Can someone point me in the right direction for a UK contact please.
Thanks

It costs about 45 pounds to have the cd from dell. Also when you will reinstall the operation system you will loose all the programs like face recognition and the burn software.
Awful company honestly .
The other option is to buy the insurance for the computer ( no damage) for about 200 pounds

tarzan11234,
Please use Internet Explorer(32-bit) when navigating to My Dell Downloads :: Login. Use the same email address and password you use here. Click on add system. Your paid programs can be found there. Fast Access Facial Recognition Software and your burn programs can be downloaded from there.
***Systems purchased befor April 1, 2010 might NOT register with Dell My Downloads***
