Windows 7 Upgrade - System not recognized and platform change

Hi,

I recently purchased a Dell Vostro 1320 through dell.com.
I tried registering for the Windows 7 Upgrade program and was unable to; I get the error saying my system is not in the DB.
According to the post here http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19301531.aspx the issue (#3) was resolved on 11-03-2009; however it seems that's not the case.
I did call Tech Support and Customer service and was referred to send an e-mail to global_cc_win7@dell.com which I did, and am still waiting for an answer.
I just wanted to see if anyone on the Operating System Liaison team could help expedite this somehow.

The second concern is: My system came with Windows Vista Business 32-bit, and I did request my Windows Vista Business64-bit disc in order to take full advantage of the 4 GB of RAM and my several 64-bit only apps.
The thing is, once the Win7 website issue is solved, I'll place the order and will receive only the 32-bit disc.
Is there any way I can order a Win 7 64-bit disc? Similar to what I did for Vista? (DSN ID 158098 http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19276918.aspx and http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/19254009/19492783.aspx#19492783)

Thanks in advance.

pool7,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Here is how and who to contact for registration issues on the win7 upgrade site.

For users in the US/EMEA you contact the Dell Customer Care teams to make your svc tags eligible if you are having issues with registration.  If you have a question about billing, shipping, and order related issues they can e-mail the win7upgrade@dell.com mailbox. If you have an unanswered question about billing, shipping, or other order related issues? Are you experiencing website performance issues? Please visit  Contact Us and provide as much detail as possible. A representative will usually respond to your inquiry within one business day.

That dsn article only applies to Windows Vista. I am trying to verify if customers will be able to get the 64 bit version.

Hi Jesse L and thanks for the quick reply.

I'm actually located in LTA (Latin America); Argentina to be more precise.
I did use the contact form from the Win7 Upgrade site, and that's when I was referred to contact Customer Service, who directed me to send an e-mail to the address in my first post.

I'll stay tuned for the second issue resolution.

Thanks again! :)
