Windows Vista Sidebar

The sidebar will not open on startup of my Dell Inspiron 9400 notebook, even though the open on startup box is ticked. Sometimes I get a message to say it has not opened & some times I don't. Any thoughts?

Have you got all the latest windows updates ?

I know my version of vista sometimes struggles with the sidebar though. Most times it opens ok, but sometimes it doesn't.

I have a litttle problem with my side too ,even called support, don't know how much they helped. If my sidebar doesn't  I just go to start & programs and open it , I guess you can go to the DEP security and shut it off to let the side bar work.

Thankyou. Yes I have the latest updates loaded. The problem started after I loaded a couple of other programs. Even a local technical "expert" cannot solve the issue.

Thks,

Thankyou. Until I can solve the problem, will persevere with the way you have suggested.
