Windows Vista clean install

I reinstalled my Windows Vista 32-bit on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop after a hard drive crash and can't for the life of me get the network controller to work.

I tried downloading and installing about a dozen different drivers suggested by various forums and still can't get it to work.

My network controller in device manager, under details have the following hardware ids:

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_000B1028&REV_01

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&SUBSYS_000B1028

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&CC_028000

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4315&CC_0280

Can someone please tell me what driver to use and where to download it?

I will be eternally grateful.

Thank you very much.

Hi Quiqueelcid,

Just to make sure, did you install the drivers in the correct order mentioned in this link?

When installing the drivers for wireless card, please download and install this driver:

Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard, v.5.10.38.26 (Driver), A23

If you have already tried this driver, please run the test on “Communication Devices” in PC Checkup.

Note: PC Checkup is part of the Dell Support Center Application. To run PC Checkup you must install Dell Support Center application. Click here to download and install Dell Support Center application.

I will be trying your driver shortly. My install sequence was slightly different so if it doesn't work I'll start from scatch again and reload windows.

Thank you very much for your help.

Have a look at Windows Reinstallation Guide/A Clean Install of Windows Vista:

http://philipyip.wordpress.com/dell-community-forums/

It will instruct you through the install procedure and installation of drivers. I have started to compile some hardware IDs for Dell Wireless Cards here:
