Windows Vista validation (again..?)

Hello everybody,

We have a Dell Studio 1535 laptop Windows Vista installed by Dell.

All of a sudden Windows claims it is not genuine anymore? Allthough everything seems to work right. I´ve tried to activate Windows again in the usual manner; reporting at Microsoft, using the genuine productkey as well as the original product ID. All i got back from Microsoft is an irritating errormessage - 0xC004E003 - which means the softwarelicensing service doesn´t evaluate the license... Whatever I do and try, it seems that I´m running around in (digital) circles.

Tips or tricks anyone?

Where to look or what to do?

Hope to hear from you soon,

Regards and thanks,

Jan

Welcome to the forums Jan :emotion-21:

Did this just start happening out of the blue, or was it possibly after you'd (i.e.) installed a Windows Update, updated drivers, or installed a particular program?

Have you tried a System Restore, to a date before you starting having this problem?

You could try inserting the OS disc, and doing a 'Repair'?

If all else fails though, you may have to restore the system to its factory defaults, using the recovery partition :emotion-6:

Jan Rotte,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Install Windows Update Genuine Adavantage and run it. This should resolve the error. You may also want to make sure you have the Service Packs Installed.
