Windows XP log on problem

I cannot log on to windows XP. I enter my password, windows starts to load, then it just logs off. This happens for all users. However I am able to log on safe mode with admin priveleges. I also ran a hard disk test and it returned a fail code 7. The dimension 4700 is almost 2 years old. Any suggestions??
