XP Computer Browser service can't be started – Error 1075
I tried to create a home network with Win7 and XP Pro but ran into problems. My XP Pro Computer Description widow is blank and I can't enter a description. Found out I needed to start Computer Browser in system services. I attempt to start and get the following message:
Could not start the Computer Browser service on Local Computer.
Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or have been marked for deletion.
I tried a search but couldn't turn up anything helpful at Microsoft or the Internet.
Does anyone have any suggestion how to solve?

Hi Rick,
I tried both the solutions; the first one twice and the comprehensive one once. I kept getting the message that "rundll32" was not a valid internal/external command. I went through the whole procedure to make sure what got turned off was turned back on. On the last time on the first procedure, a Windows Management Console came up without any values. It didn't look like the one I get when running services.msc. I think I'm just going to go without a network since I'll probably be fazing out the old PC. If I decide to keep it as a backup I'll go ahead and do a clean install of XP and maybe that will fix it.
Thanks for all your help.
