computer locking up
My computer is locking up. I have to shut it down by hitting the switch. When it comes back I either have a black screen with safe mode or normal, or I will get just a black screen with just a flashing line in the left hand corner. If I wait long enough it will give me a box telling me that it will restore to the last session. This goes on a lot. Don't know what to do. Can anyone help me?

sounds like a failing hard drive

Did you ever get this resolved? I have been having the same issue with my new XPS 8300. I finally gave up last week and requested a replacement. I am still waiting for it to be shipped.
