iNSTALLING NORTON'S INTERNET SECURITY 2004

While installing Norton's software received error Message:

 Run Time Error-C;\Windows\System32\MsiExec.exe

Abnormal program termination.

Have gone through Norton's technical support and they have determined that my Windows Installer is bad.

I have installed other softwares since that time and they install without  any error message.

I was previosly running Norton's 2002, without any problems.

HELP!!!!!

The instructions from Symantec about dealing with this problem are here.  Included in the instructions is a link to the Microsoft site for downloading an updated installer.  This is the reason I don't use Symantec problems but use some of the many other software out there most of which is free.

Thanks for your quick response to this very frustrating problem!! Unfortunately I could not find a Windows Installer update for XP operating system.

The other downloads that you recommend, will they give me all the protection that I need?

Yes they will.  Those and a firewall such as Sygate Personal (Free) and a decent antivirus should take care of you.  Also there is no need to use popup stoppers.  The Google toolbar will take care of those.
