lock symbol in middle of screen
Have a picture of a lock ,that is one inch square in the middle of my screen ,that shows locking and unlocking.Have norton antivirus and antispam software.Cant get it off.Any suggestions?

Go to Start|Control Panel|Display|Desktop tab. Click the "Customize desktop" button and on the Web tab of the dialog that opens see if there is any checked entry which might correspond to the symbol. If so, select it and delete it.

Hi,
Do you get any menu if you right click on the "lock". Try dbl left clicking on the "lock". What happens ??

I had tried that.Weird thing is when I passed mouse over it arrow disappears underneath.

Hmm,
Click Start->Run-> Type "msconfig" minus quotes and click the last tab "Startup". Click "Disable all" and restart PC. Is the lock icon still there ?
***If you have a hi speed connection, turn off the external modem or put the modem on standby since this will disable your antivirus***
