restore Os and Clean Registry
I have a Dell Inspiron 4150 and am going to restore the XP Os. Does the registry get cleaned at the same time? and also, how do I get all of the Os patches

The registry gets deleted and re-created regardless of whether you wipe the hard drive and do a clean install or to use Dell's PC Restore. Either way, be sure to disconnect all peripherals, except mouse, monitor and keyboard until after XP is running again.
You get the XP updates/fixes by going to the Microsoft site. If you use PC Restore, you will likely have SP2, so go to Microsoft and download SP3 (`360 MB). Install that and reboot, then go to this Microsoft site and let it scan your system to find all the required updates that came out after SP3 was released.
