Black screen of death

Black screen of death

Been using Pocket cloud on my regular kindle for sometime with no problem. Purchased a Kindle Fire HD and when I connect to my desktop I get a black screen. Contacted support and was directed to the forum.

Using pocketcloud version 1.2.187.002 2. On Kindle Fire hd
Using pocket cloud companion Version 2.5.1.3 3.
On PC with Windows 7
No error message just a black screen
Using auto Discovered
Only can use VNC when I try RDP it tells me I haven't to purchase PRO only it is not available in the Amazon Kindle App store
When I disconnect it sits there and spins to the point I have to shut down the Kindle and restart.

Do you have any developer options enabled on your device?

You may want to double check and make sure the following options are not enabled:

The Kindle Fire HD does not have developer options.

Black Screen of Death part 2

I tap the screen twice and I hear two clicks.
I check my firewall and eveything is enabled for the program.
In fact my regular Kindle still works.
I ran the event log and made sure the VNC port was correct.
I cannot run RDP because PR is not avaiable for the Kindle Fire HD.
Still have the Black Screen of Death.

Thanks for you reply

What version of Android is it running?

If you are running Jelly Bean, you can enable them by tapping the build number of Android within the Setting screen on your device. I think you have to tap it 7+ times.

When you tap the screen do you hear any sounds? Try tapping the screen and then giving it a little time to see if the desktop comes up. Sometimes after tapping the screen it will load up the desktop. You may also want to make sure PocketCloud is added to any allowed applications lists within your anti-virus and firewall. Please let me know if this does not help.
