RDP 3389 Error

RDP 3389 Error

I don't know if this it the right place for this but here goes. I was using this with my old Windows XP computer, but just upgraded to a Windows 8 PC.

Now I can not get it to work. When I run diagnostics it says that RDP is not listening to port 3389. Any help??

What version of Windows 8 are you using? If you are using a Home edition, RDP is not supported. You would need to use a VNC connection.

What version of the companion software are you using?

If you are using the latest version of the companion software, you should be able to connect via VNC without a problem. Unfortunately VNC connections are more limited (feature wise) compared to RDP. The latest companion has a VNC client built into it so you should be able to connect to your Windows 8 machine without a problem. You can download and install the latest companion here:

Yeah I have the hone version and found out it does not support RDP. I have never used a VNC connection.

I had to go another route and installed a different program to get what I needed.       

No Events found!
