C10's don't get DHCP lease

Exclamation C10's don't get DHCP lease

Hi

Resently, our C10LE's have been picking up a bit of a nasty problem; they don't get an IP address from DHCP. Windows-based PC's get IP's just fine.

It's an all ProCurve network with a Cisco ASA (for the moment) doing the inter-VLAN routing. The DHCP server is running as an installed role on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Hi,

We have the same problem with our C10's.

Windows-based PC's and Cisco IP Phone's have no issues.
DHCP runs on windows 2008R2 all routers and switches are cisco's.
Switch is configured with portfast, and we don't have 43, 66 or 67 DHCP options enabled

I found the solution, and you helped me on the way.

It turns out that DHCP option 66 and 67 was set. Once removed, everything was okay.

ThinOS does not support VLAN tagging, so if you have that enabled on the port the packets may just be ignored. Also, check if recently somebody has started using DHCP option tag #43 (Vendor ID) since some customers have reported once they start using that (for other products) ThinOS will stop getting IP address.
