I'm sorry to repeat myself, but please consult your Dell Wyse CCC Team to discuss the options to migrate to 64-bit offline as this requires some more information from your side to develop a procedure that can work for your specific set up.

Ok. Though its most important at the linked site servers, and I belive it's less important at HQ, since it dont get heavy IO except when distributing new images out. I'm thinking about installing new WSM6x64 linkedsite straight on those HV boxes, then import each site's clients, then shut down the virtual servers, do it sound reasonable?

Only fresh install of WSM 6.0.0 will result in true 64-bit version; upgrades of existing 32-bit versions will remain 32-bit.

Did several upgrades on WS2008R2 64bit from WSM 5.0.1 to 6.0.0 and did not ecnounter any other issue than having 3GB of free space on the installation drive to start the uprade.
Please describe your problem a bit more in detail to understand your sitiuation.

Are there possible, for example, set up a brand new server, install WSM x64 from scratch, make it linked-site server to get configs, then promote it to HQ, then I can get the x86 HQ server replaced, and the same trick for the link-site and edge servers?

Or are there other ways to migrate from x86 to x64 WSM ?

The issue is that I have several hypervisor servers with link site + edge servers which I would like to remove and run WSM x64 linksite server straight on the HV box, removing I/O overhead and gain more disk space.

I'm just wondering about how the steps are to do it, to keep the configs. Maybe install a new edge server on the HV, get the config, then change it to link site server?

And for the HQ server, are there any way to transfer configs and db to a fresh x64 install?

We are suffering slow performance in general windows usage+ long login times so I'm trying to tweak everything theres possible to tweak.

Please work with your local Dell CCC Team to get such migration blessed by Dell Wyse SQA.
This is not a trivial migration and needs to be tested thoroughly before deployed on a production environment.

How about upgrading WSM5 x86 till WSM6 x86, then backup db and configs, uninstall WSM6 x86, install brand new WSM6 x64, restore configs and db? Or are there a safer way to do this migrating from x86 to x64 ?

Can you confirm that the WSM 6 that you upgraded to actually are x64 and not x86 ? If I try to upgrade from WSM5, it upgrades to x86 version of WSM6.
