PxN client and Dell P2012H monitor attached via DVI

We're having an issue with our WYSE PxN client and all Dell P2012H monitors. When attached via DVI port to DVI port, no display. On the console the status is "Connected - EDID read failure" . Very odd. We've tried different clients and monitors and cables.. all the same error. However, if we plug a dvi to display port adapter (DVI on the monitor to DP on the client) it works normally. This is supposedly Dell to Dell hardware its not working.
