Noisy hard drive problem in XPS 8920 solved

Dell put my main hard drive in the steel cage at the bottom of the computer and it sounded like a popcorn maker (very noisy) so I took it out and mounted it on top of the cage with thick weather-stripping, and now I can't hear it at all. I am thinking they should have put it in the cage near the power supply that has the plastic enclosure but it's totally quiet now. I have a picture if anyone is interested. Also, I don't see anywhere in this forum where you can look up your previous posts?????
